About Us

Vancouver Youth Radio (VYR) is a part of the Hastings Street Media Lab Project and is located at The RayCam Cooperative Community Centre in the inner-city of Vancouver Canada

VYR's mission is to provide youth with everything they need to explore digital creativity in a supportive environment.

VYR values diversity, freedom of speech, integrity, the honesty of youthful expression, different cultural perspectives, and democracy.

VYR is committed to producing and broadcasting intelligent, progressive content from a youth perspective.

VYR provides listeners with tasteful and high quality musical programming and concentrates editorial comment & documentaries on current hot button issues related to youth culture

VYR is driven by its audience and highly regards feedback.

VYR encourages youth to become involved by:

- Submitting original digital music, video and graphic art for broadcast on this website

- Submitting concepts and ideas for developmental support
